WhatsApp Active Users Double in Less than a year

WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum announced on Monday that the cross-platform mobile-messaging app now has 430 million active users. That's up from 200 million in April 2013, which means its user base has more than doubled in less than a year.
The number of messages sent and received via WhatsApp has increased, as well, from 20 billion per day to 50 billion per day.
Private messaging is becoming increasingly popular of late, especially for social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat — and yet, it seems WhatsApp continues to hold its own.
Statista's chart, above, shows the progression of WhatsApp's active user base and daily-message volume over the past 10 months.

1. Connect on your mobile.

The availability of smartphones makes it easy for you to access the internet anywhere, at any time! Airtel has data recharge vouchers which are similar to to Airtime recharge vouchers that when loaded on your handset can be used to surf the internet only but not to make calls.

You can also convert your Airtime recharge to a data bundle by dialing the associated USSD for the data plan you want.
For example you can dial *141*11*2# to activate the weekly data plan with allowance of 50MB

2. Connect on your computer using your mobile as a modem

Interestingly, you don’t have to purchase a modem before you can browse on your computer. Simply connect your phone (limited to mainly smartphones) to the computer using a USB cable .
Ensure that you have installed the connection software on your computer by;
a) Using the CD that came with your mobile phone, or
b) Downloading the connection software online and install on your computer
After installing  the software, take these steps to ensure that it is properly installed
a) Plug in the USB cable that came with your phone into both your phone and computer
b) Open the connection software.
c) Click the ‘connect’ button to establish a connection to the internet.

Certain phones with Android and iOS will allow you to do this without necessarily having the connection software.

3. Connect via Mobile Hotspot

A hotspot is a feature on a mobile phone that allows several other Wi-Fi enabled devices to connect to the internet through your mobile device. These Wi-Fi enabled devices must not be farther than 100 meters from your mobile phone.

4. Connect using a modem, Mifi or router.

You can now move about with your internet connection in your pocket with the Airtel internet dongle / modem . Also available is the Airtel router which you can use to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot in your home or office for use with multiple.
