How To Find Rs.500, Rs.100 Notes Issued Before 2005

The Reserve Bank of India has advised that after March 31, 2014, it will completely withdraw from circulation all banknotes issued pre-2005. From April 1, 2014, the public will be required to approach banks for exchanging these notes which are printed before 2005. Banks will provide exchange facility . The Reserve Bank further stated that public can easily identify the notes to be withdrawn as the notes issued before 2005 do not have on them the year of printing on the reverse side.

The Reserve Bank has also clarified that the notes issued before 2005 will continue to be legal tender. This would mean that banks are required to exchange the notes for their customers as well as for non-customers. From July 01, 2014, however,  to exchange more than 10 pieces of `500 and `1000 notes, non-customers will have to furnish proof of identity and residence to the bank branch in which she/he wants to exchange the notes.

The Reserve Bank has appealed to the public not to panic. They are requested to actively co-operate in the withdrawal process.

Nazriya Nazim to wed Fahadh Fazil

Nazriya Nazim, the young talent of Tamil and Malayalam cinema, will marry actor Fahadh Fazil by the end of year, said the actress' father. Their families have agreed to the wedding.

"The news about my daughter's marriage with Fahadh is true. It will take place by the end of the year and both our families have mutually agreed for the wedding," Nazriya's father told IANS.
The couple is said to have got engaged recently.

Nazriya posted on her Facebook wall Monday: "Friends. I have got engaged with Fahadh Fazil. Thanks for all your wishes".


Nazriya and Fahadh are currently working together in a Malayalam romantic-drama titled L for Love.

Fahadh, a popular Malayalam actor, is also the son of filmmaker Fazil. In 2013, he starred in as many as 12 films.

National and Official Languages


India Flag Map
  • Hindi: Is the National Language of India. It’ is the most widely spoken language among Indians.
  •  English: Is the Official Working Language of India.

State Languages


  •  Each state in India has a main Language that can be used for official purpose within the State, in addition to Hindi and English.
  • There are 29 states in India

Northern States Official Languages


  •  States where Hindi is the official language: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Harayana. These states are known as the “Northern belt states”.
  •  Punjab – Punjabi
  •  Jammu and Kashmir - Urdu

Eastern States Official Languages


  • Assam – Assamese
  • West Bengal and Tripura – Bengali
  • Orissa – Oriya

Food of India

  • Food from Eastern India consist mainly of rice, fish, dals, vegetables and sweets.
  •  Bengali sweets like Rasogolla and Sandesh are famous all over and favourite among all Indians.

Western India Food


  • Foods from Western India consist of coconut flavour in Goanese cuisine with lot of fish items which is eaten with rice. In Maharashtra and Gujarat people mostly eat rice, vegetables and dal.

South Indian Food


  • In the Southern states people eat mostly rice or items made from rice, such as Dosas and Idlis in Tamil Nadu. Due to hot climate the foods are mixed with hot peppers and tamarind. In Kerala a lot of fish items are prepared using both spices and coconuts.

Traditional Costumes


  • Sari, Swerwani, Churidar Kurta, Salwar Kameez.
  • Punjab - Kurta Pajama, Salwar Kameez.
  • Jammu and Kashmir - Pheran and Poots
  • West Bengal - Sari and Dhoti Punjabi
There is a great diversity among different regions of India in terms of Language, Culture and Dress. But though we are different we all are Indians. We must be proud of Being Indians.
