android jelly bean update

Hi guys. I created a facebook page for this blog yesterday. The whole idea is to build a community where we can interact and share ideas as well as real stories that will not only promote entrepreneurship but also inspire and motivate people. It's Friday and that means #fridaymusic, yaay! This time I have a 90s song to share, thanks to the amazing and ever supportive +Tosyn Bucknor. I don't know how she manages to do it, but she's simply one of the most down to earth and inspiring people I know. Back to the matter at hand. On her timeline a few days back, she posted "Iris" has to be one of the best songs ever! I think I agree. Apart from Bon Jovi's "always" and Nickleback's "how you remind me", this was one of the rock songs I loved to listen to back in the day. The simplicity of the song composition, the instrumentals just work for me. The lyrics.... funny thing is I just really attempted to dissect that today, I just used to hum along and then raise my voice at the chorus. Lol.

"Iris" is a song by American alternative rock band the +Goo Goo Dolls  Originally written for the soundtrack of 1998 film City Of Angels. According to +Wikipedia It is one of the biggest 90's alternative rock staples in the history of alternative music and it contributed greatly to the band's success.

Yours  truly sat in front of her laptop yesterday all fired up to share the first song for the year, she types www.blogspot.com....eek, error! Okay let's try mofolusades.blogspot.com..... eeek eek, error... *hyperventilating* Reboots system, twice for certainty, retypes www.blogger.com! Aaah oti o. Lol!!

Funny thing is, I never thought for a second that Google could have downtime or something, I was freaking out, thinking oh  no, all my posts, my pictures... Yeepa. Then it occurs to me to check if there was some issue, where did I first go to check... Google too! Lmao! Long and short, after fishing around for a bit, I check twitter and see some other people complaining... Whew! Thank God it's sorted, but please Google don't ever try this again.

The morale of the story above is that... "This is why my Friday music is coming on Saturday :-)"  and yea, whatever you've got online should better be backed up somewhere. I mean, you just never know.

Meanwhile, I have shifted from the strictly #90smusic theme to #fridaymusic biko! Whenever I remember a great song I need to share and do my background check, turns out some of them were cooked in the 80s or 2000s even. So, I'm just going to open the door and let them in.

Something inside was a single released by Labi Siffre in 1987. It was inspired by a TV documentary on Apartheid South Africa seen by Siffre in 1985 in which a white soldier was filmed shooting at black children. However, for me the songs means much more. I think of the struggle of life itself when I listen to it. The struggle to breakthrough and be what you were made to be, against all odds. There have been many covers of this song, for me though, none beats this original!

Hi guys. I respected myself and tried to keep all my 'waka' to the barest minimum today. I live off the express and our 'overflow' family and friends will definitely make sure that axis is on a lock down today. I have a lot to say about this, but I'll bite my tongue and save it for another day. Just know though, that not every church going Nigerian is truly Christian, and boy do we have a lot of church goers..... the end!

Eheen, so I have some energy today since I didn't have to endure five hours in Lagos traffic. It's been a while since I took my time to share anything from the heart here, so I'll try to make it up with my song of the day!! It's not a 90s song by the way; at this rate, I am beginning to think maybe I need to change this Friday segment to #songoftheday or #musicfriday maybe, what do you think? We'll see. Today will be #musicfriday though, because there's no way I can pass this one off as #90smusic.
